Treatment of textile dyes effluents by laccase mediator system

چکیده
A screening using several laccase mediators (2,2-azinobis(3ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS), 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (HBT), Nhydroxyacetanilide (NHA), 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-yloxy (TEMPO) and violuric acid (VA)) was performed on the degradation of three reactive textile dyes: Reactive Black 5 (RB5), Reactive Blue 114 (RB114) and Reactive Yellow 15 (RY15). ABTS was the most effective mediator and its efficiency depended on the type of dye and also on the pH, temperature and ABTS concentration. The optimum temperature and pH values were found at 35oC and 5.0, respectively. ABTS has no effect on the decolourisation at low dyes concentrations, except for RB114 where at lower concentrations it promotes the best decolourisation (93%). High concentrations of ABTS inhibited the decolourisation.

متن کاملDecolorization and detoxification of textile dyes with a laccase from Trametes hirsuta.
Trametes hirsuta and a purified laccase from this organism were able to degrade triarylmethane, indigoid, azo, and anthraquinonic dyes. Initial decolorization velocities depended on the substituents on the phenolic rings of the dyes. Immobilization of the T. hirsuta laccase on alumina enhanced the thermal stabilities of the enzyme and its tolerance against some enzyme inhibitors, such as halide...
متن کاملPurification and Characterization of Thermostable Laccase from Thermophilic Geobacillus thermocatenulatus MS5 and its applications in removal of Textile Dyes
Laccases are multicopper-containing oxidases (EC 1.10.3.2.) and they are widely found in fungi, higher plants and bacteria. Because of their high pH stability and thermostability, laccases from this strain have a potential for the treatment of textile bleaching effluents. In this research, the thermophilic test strain isolated from the Manikaran thermal springs, in Himachal Pradesh, were subjec...

UNLABELLED BACKGROUND In serious consideration of the worldwide environmental issues associated with the extensive use of the textile dyes and effluents generated thereof, the scientists across the world are in search for potential treatment technologies for their treatment. In such scenario the ligninolytic enzymes provide a potential alternative because they are cost effective, eco-friendl...
متن کاملBiotransformation of phenolics with laccase containing bacterial spores
Treatment of effluents containing phenols such as textile dyes with fungal laccases is usually limited to the acid to neutral pH range and moderate temperatures. Here we demonstrate for the first time that spore-bound laccases which are stable at high temperatures and pH values can be used for phenolic dye decolorisation. Laccase containing spores from Bacillus SF were immobilized on alumina pe...
